Greetings from the new Canoe Sailing Magazine!

1/20/08 - My name is Ed Maurer and I am the Chief Cook and Bottle Washer of Canoe Sailing Magazine. As a fellow canoe sailor, I  wanted  to see a publication that encompasses the entire sport of canoe sailing, from historical and classic craft up to today’s high-tech recreational and competition canoes. I hope you will find Canoe Sailing Magazine a fun and informative publication you will enjoy on a regular basis.

I'd like to take this opportunity to welcome all you who are interested in sailing canoes and kayaks, and encourage you to feel free to contribute your stories, articles, photos and whatever else you would like to see in this magazine. It is, after all, our community, regardless of what type we sail. So, whether you sail an antique, a Polynesian, an International Class, or just some old plastic job with a polytarp sail--come on board!

To build community, I would like to offer your organization free space in this publication to share your events and interests with others around the world who will find their way to this magazine. I envision sections for each organization that contain schedules and calendars, race results, tech tips, etc.

Now, we will add more to this magazine as time goes on. Once we get the bugs worked out and the gronicles aligned, we'll have a Canoe Sailing Magazine forum. What else we add will also have to do with your input. I'm open to your ideas, so use our 'Contact' tool and let us know what you'd like to see.

And don't be shy--please contact me if you would like to participate!

Thanks!
