Sailing with motivation and little budget.... 8 Months, 3 Weeks ago  
I built the sailing rig for this canoe last summer and have been mostly learning to sail it since. Let me know what you think about the rig...I know the sail needs replaced with a real one, but I was waiting to get the rest of the rig ironed out first....

To me it looks very good. Everything is there for a comfortable sailing day. Polytarp is a good material for a sail, to start and make trials. Polyester material found in a discount fabric store is good for making a sail and looks very nice. Mine are made from this material, color is burgundy. Don't forget to spray UV protection on the sail. Have fun.

Looks great - you're ahead of me. I'm still reading the Canoe Rig book from Todd Bradshaw... And getting caught up on other projects around the house - those seem never-ending though. :-)

The rudder hinges are from Racelite. I just had to modify them a bit to get them to fit.

I used ash for the thwarts, rudder and leeboard and douglas fir for the mast and spars.
