Starting in July, 2008, on Direct TV, ZON3 LLC will launch its new TV series called "Ocean Paddler TV." Dedicated to traditional Polynesian paddle sports, the program also features canoe sailing and the lifestyle and culture of the Pacific islands. According to HSA president, Terry Galpin, “It is airing now in Hawaii and is a huge hit. The HSCA mission statement is ‘to revive, educate, practice and teach the ancient Hawaiian skills and values as they relate to the Hawaiian sailing canoe and our culture,’ so this is a great program for us.”

The first installment of the new program can be seen here: www.hawaiianx.com/oceanpaddler/

I’d like to join the readers of Canoe Sailing Magazine in congratulating Terry, the HSCA and its members on a really great opportunity to share Polynesian sailing with us all. I hope to welcome you to the magazine as new members, too!
