Stitch and glue method eases construction of sophisticated designSteve Clark, Contributing Editor, Warren Rhode Island
Attached are some images of a canoe being built via stitch and glue technique with a few twists. Hull panels cut by CNC laser directly from DXF files. This allows very accurate assembly of parts. After folding up, I bagged core and Kevlar into the shell. Also using the same laser technology to build sliding seats, which are more like a self designed model airplane kit. Both are pretty interesting examples of how you can get pretty sophisticated parts built without inordinate skill or a big shop. Both need a bit of work before they are ready for prime time or distribution with full assurance that they really work.
