Jib or Genoa, how do I tell? 1 Year ago
My craft was inspired by a wooden mast and a set of fitting sails. She works just fine with only the main but I would be remiss if I never flew the jibs and kite. The kite geometry I've established while the foresails do yet elude my complete understanding. Is it safe to assume a Jib has a 90 degree angle to its leech and foot, taking up 100% of the fore triangle? If so, I have two Genoas. My fore stay point is merely centered between the bows and experimentation suggests a bowsprit. When stretched tight the foot is significantly curved. May I assume that the foot should be 'level' when inflated? Fascinated and Fixated -Steve
