kayak outrigger 1 Year, 3 Months ago  
Hi, I've got a problem with my outrigger design, on a sea kayak.

I tried PVC pipe, and inflatable buoy, and both gave me the same flaw :
The kayak turns strongly over the outrigger side.

As a kayak is a round hull, should I go for a sharp V outrigger to get a straight route ?

I built my own pair of outriggers using skin on frame technique. They are V shaped and they don't steer my kayak for me. I'm using a double kayak, that may be an explanation also.

I'm busy finishing plans and DIY method if you'd like to try the same.

I'd be pleased to hear about your skin on frame design.
Sounds like it fits the kayak history, indeed.
